Join us for a powerful poster presentation by Fenella Trevillion, exploring her journey of “Disrupting my whiteness to develop a race equity coaching perspective.”
Fenella’s research stems from a profound epiphany following the murder of George Floyd, which highlighted a concerning silence and “colourblind” lens within the coaching community. This pivotal moment spurred her to confront the misalignment between her values and actions as a white woman.
Using the autoethnography research method, Fenella meticulously tracked her personal and professional transformation, revealing how this disruption of her whiteness fundamentally altered her coaching approach and worldview. Her work offers vital insights into the process of developing a more equitable and race-conscious coaching practice.
This presentation is a crucial invitation to engage with challenging yet essential conversations about race, whiteness, and their impact on coaching.
You’ll leave with a fresh perspective and valuable takeaways on the imperative of coachers doing the Inner Work necessary.
