Dr Patrick Ebong Ebewo is a renowned entrepreneur, researcher, and consultant with over 18 years of experience in enterprise development, business coaching, and entrepreneurship education. His expertise lies in indigenous business models, decolonising coaching, and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems.Â
As Founder and Head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Dr Ebewo has been instrumental in developing business models that support coaches and small business owners across Southern Africa. Under his leadership, the centre has coached and empowered over 1,500 small business owners, helping them build scalable and sustainable enterprises. His work was recognised with the 2023 South African Presidential Award for Innovative Solutions for Small Businesses.
A Mandela Rhodes Scholar (2012) and Harambe Entrepreneur Associate (2013), Dr Ebewo is a strong advocate for decolonising coaching by integrating African business principles into entrepreneurship and coaching practices. He has collaborated with coaches, business mentors, and enterprise development specialists to create models that align with the realities of African economies and leadership approaches.Â
 Dr Ebewo holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (specialising in Entrepreneurship Development) and is a Professional Business Advisor (SAIPA). He served on the Research Committee of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA), where he contributed to advancing research on business models for coaches and entrepreneurship development in Africa.Â
His research portfolio includes over 25 accredited journal articles, 16 conference presentations, and book chapters, focusing on entrepreneurial intentions, business models for coaches, and small business development. Through his work, he is reshaping how coaching and entrepreneurship intersect in Africa, ensuring that coaching practices are economically viable and culturally relevant.
